Who we are

A Georgia nonprofit using sport to invest in the young people of Sierra Leone.

Promote youth development in Sierra Leone by using sports to engage young people.

Our story

The organization was formed by Charles Marshall, who, after learning that his maternal ancestry traced back to Sierra Leone, traveled there to become a dual citizen of Sierra Leone and the United States. He wanted to do something to help his new country.

Support Sports in Sierra Leone was formed to raise support for the country's development by investing in young people, combining sport with programs that enrich lives, address food insecurity, promote education and teach civic responsibility and pride.

The organization aims to be a vehicle for diasporan Sierra Leoneans in the United States, and the wider American public, to contribute to a country with centuries-old cultural, historical and blood ties to the United States.
