Our purpose

More than a tennis lesson

Through the Hill Station Tennis Club we support and encourage young people to learn to play tennis, and we use the court to open doors well beyond it.

  • Give youth a healthy activity
  • Combat engagement in anti-social activities
  • Address food insecurity among participants
  • Encourage classroom education
  • Teach about issues that affect them
Our impact

What every player receives

Volunteer coaches from the Sierra Leone Lawn Tennis Association provide coaching and equipment.

01A weekly tennis lesson
02Tennis shoes to train in
03Hydration during and after lessons
04A post-lesson meal
Beyond the court

Education built into every season

Players also take part in educational activities that build knowledge and pride in their country.

  • Protecting the environment
  • Culture
  • History
  • Civic responsibility & civic pride

End of program

Every player leaves with a backpack of school supplies

The season closes with a gift that carries the lessons back to the classroom, so the game keeps supporting learning long after the last serve.
